Registration is now open for the ninth Friday Harbor Irish Music Camp, in beautiful ROCHE HARBOR, Washington, on San Juan Island.
For the first time since the camp was founded in 2002, we are moving to a new location, Roche Harbor Resort. It's just a few miles north of our old home, but a world away in terms of improved lodgings, food and great session spaces; a place where we can have our own little musical village by the sea, for a few days at least. Click here for more information on Roche Harbor. |

Dan and Randal - Hotel de Haro |
We have several new teachers making their first trip to Friday Harbor Irish Music Camp this year, and we want to make them very welcome.
One of Ireland's finest fiddlers and a respected teacher, Antóin MacGabhann from Co. Meath, will be joining Randal Bays on the fiddle teaching staff. Teaching flute this year will be Sean Moloney, an excellent player from Co. Galway and the son of famed fluter Eddie Moloney. Teaching concertina will be County Clare's Florence Fahy from near Belharbour, an area rich in concertina tradition; and by popular demand our guitar instructor this year will be fingerstyle wizard Tony McManus. Our accordion instructor is a fabulous musician from Co. Galway, Johnny Og Connolly. Our scholarship student this year is an excellent fiddler and teacher from Ohio, Justin Bridges. (see below), and Andrea Cooper will be back (from the east coast!) to teach her popular whistle class.
Scroll down and click on any name for more information on this outstanding group of musicians.

LISTEN TO SOME MUSIC FROM PAST YEARS
Tarbolton Lodge/The Longford Collector/The Sailor's Bonnet
An exciting set of reels from the Saturday night staff concert at Friday Harbor Irish Music Camp, 2004, featuring Randal Bays, James Kelly, fiddles; Catherine McEvoy, flute; Tom Creegan, pipes; Leo McNamara, flute; Eoin O'Neill, bouzouki; John Williams, accordion; Daithi Sproule, guitar, et. al.
The Riddle of the Rum/Lord McDonald's Reel
Dáithí Sproule sings a song in a late night session at "The Place", one of our favorite session spots. At the end of the song all the staff and students join in for the reel.
